Diamond Bakery Announces the Launch of The Hawaiian Royal Creem Minis

September 22, 2006

(Honolulu, HI) — Diamond Bakery recently announced the launch of an additional product to join their well known family of crackers and cookies that have defined the Aloha spirit of Hawai‘i and the goodness that comes with it. The Hawaiian Royal Creem Minis are the newest additions to their popular treats that include the original full-size Royal Creems, hearty Saloon Pilot Crackers, Soda Crackers, Hawaiian Graham Crackers and a variety of cookies. The bakery prides itself for using time-tested recipes for crackers and cookies that are baked fresh daily at their Kalihi facility, using pristine Hawaiian ingredients such as Maui sugar and Hawaiian honey.

The Hawaiian Royal Creem Minis are a bite-size version of the Royal Creems that have been an island favorite for many years and are similarly available in three distinct flavors: Original, Coconut and Ginger. The minis were introduced and quickly sold out at the recent Made in Hawai‘i festival. Customers were thrilled to see the new bite sized version, while one man pointed out his appreciation for the new product because he was able to “pop and go”. Diamond Bakery President, Brent Kunimoto, says “Our products have been enjoyed by many generations of Hawaiians and we are adding new items for the future.”

Over 70 years ago the company’s master baker was looking for a recipe that would lead to a lightly sweet and creamy tasting cracker. After many attempts he crafted a recipe that satisfied his high expectations. Over the years, the Royal Creems have been associated with many heartwarming memories – as shown by a story from a satisfied customer over the years. “Diamond Bakery crackers are good anytime, anywhere, as a meal or a snack, but my fondest memory is while sailing as a crew member on board the voyaging canoe, Hokulea, traveling though the South Pacific. Diamond Royal Creem, Soda and Saloon Pilot crackers are one of the staples for all long voyages. Besides tasting good, the convenience and ease – especially in rough weather, used either as a meal. Diamond Soda crackers topped with tuna, or as a snack. Diamond Saloon Pilot crackers with peanut butter and jelly, or to accompany a cup of coffee or hot cocoa.”

Equally important is the new 10 ounce box of the unique Hawaiian Animal cookies, which come in three tasty flavors: Original, Cinnamon Graham with Hawaiian Honey, and Maui Sugar varieties. Each bag takes kids on an underwater snacking adventure with playful, Hawaiian-baked sea creatures. The cookies come in five fun shapes: the shark (mano), dolphin (nai‘a), humpback whale (kohola), octopus (he‘e), and moonfish (opah).
Since the first sheet of crackers came out of their ovens in 1921, Diamond Bakery has been a favorite for locals and visitors alike. Their flavorful baked goods have been a symbol of heartwarming aloha and have remained an island favorite over the years. Their slogan sums it up perfectly. Diamond Bakery: Baking with Heartwarming Aloha Since 1921.
